Silver Flash - Out of this World - Chapter 8

Silver Flash
Out of this World by L.M. Brown
A Male/Male Romance

A short recap since it has been so long...

Mistaken prophet Rick has been abducted from a disastrous blind date by sexy alien Xenon. With more aliens eager to steal him away Rick has agreed to act as Xenon's whore to fool the others into thinking that is all he is. Not that this is a great hardship and he soon falls into bed with Xenon in truth. Now if only he could get the talking bed to shut up...

-

The sound of banging coming from the door pulled Rick from his lust-induced stupor. “Xenon?”

Xenon’s fingers, currently stroking his balls, didn’t stop. “Ignore her and she’ll go away.”

Rick closed his eyes. How much was he supposed to be able to ignore? First a talking bed and now some unknown female outside the door.

“It’s only Affie,” Xenon informed him, as though that would make a difference.

“Don’t you think you should answer her?” Rick asked, his voice sounding breathless to his own ears.

“She’ll get bored and go bother someone else soon.”

Xenon’s forked tongue flicked one of his nipples and Rick gasped even as he wondered when his shirt had been pushed up out of the way. “How soon?”

“Real soon.”

“Xenon, open this damned door now!” Affie didn’t seem inclined to leave just yet.

“Any minute now…” Xenon muttered.

“I swear if you don’t open this door I’ll bloody well melt it down.”

Rick whimpered as Xenon pulled away from him and turned to face the door. “You wouldn’t dare.”

“Try me,” Affie yelled back. “Now let me in before you do something stupid like letting the human fuck you.”

Xenon turned and hit one of the buttons at the head of the bed and their naked counterparts vanished.

Rick knew without being told the mood had gone and he put his clothes to rights as Xenon scrambled off the bed and walked towards the door. If it had been a regular door it would have been flung open hard enough to damage the hinges.

The tiny woman on the other side of the door was not what Rick was expecting at all. She was at least a head shorter than both himself and Xenon, though her untamed flyaway green hair added to her height.

Without waiting for an invitation Affie barged into the room and closed the door behind her. She barely gave Rick a glance before turning to the captain and looking him over carefully. “I see I’m just in time,” she said.

“That’s a matter of opinion,” Xenon muttered. Affie ignored him as she flopped down gracefully onto the sofa.

Rick perched on the end of the bed as he watched the self-assured captain squirm under the gaze of the tiny woman.

“Well, aren’t you going to introduce us?” Affie finally asked.

Xenon looked at Rick and gestured vaguely to Affie. “Rick, Affie. Affie, Rick.”

Affie shook her head. “Pitiful, truly pitiful. Anyone would think you’d been dragged up in the jungle.” She turned to Rick with a bright smile. “I am Princess Aphrodite of the Oaken Clan of the planet Arania. I hope you’ll think of me as a sister.”

“Princess?” Rick wondered what she was doing out here in the middle of nowhere in an unprotected spaceship.

“Hard to believe isn’t it?” Xenon commented. “She forgot to add stowaway to her list of titles.”

Affie grinned unrepentantly. “Someone had to keep an eye on you.”

“I don’t need anyone to watch over me.”

“Of course you do. If I hadn’t interrupted, your human would no doubt be buried balls deep in your arse by now.”

Xenon’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “I know. And if you leave we can get back to that.”

“You can’t fuck each other,” Affie insisted. “Didn’t you read the elders’ report about the prophet?”

Xenon looked as confused as Rick felt. “I read most of it.”

“Didn’t you read the bit about the prophet’s role on Arania?”

“Of course I did! He’ll save our world from dying.”

“He’ll also be bound to the heir to the clan.”

“So?”

“You know what Argon is like. If he knows you’ve had him first he’ll refuse to bond and doom us all.”

“I wasn’t planning on telling him,” Xenon pointed out.

“What do you mean by bound?” Rick asked, though he had a suspicion he might know the answer to that one.

“It’s something like a marriage,” Xenon explained. “Only more permanent.”

“I thought you were going to take me home after all this?” Rick stood up and stalked over to his host. “You never said anything about getting married to some strange bloke.”

“Argon isn’t that strange,” Affie interrupted with a smile. “He’s very sought after by men and women across the universe.”

Rick ignored her and continued to glare at Xenon. “Xenon?”

Xenon looked away and drew in a deep breath. “After you’ve met Argon you won’t want to go home anyway. No one ever does. He’s irresistible to everyone and once you’ve shared his bed you’ll never wish to leave it.”

“That’s not the point. You said you’d take me home!”

Affie snickered. “Oh I like him. Though I imagine Argon might be expecting someone a little more pliant.”

Rick spared Affie a glare before turning his attention back to Xenon. “Why didn’t you mention I was going to have to marry this prince of yours?”

Xenon sighed and shook his head. “I didn’t keep it from you deliberately. Things have just happened so quickly. Besides, you don’t believe you’re the prophet anyway.”

“But you believe it,” Rick whispered. “I know you do. So, what was the plan? Spend the next month fucking to pass the time on the trip and then turn me over to your prince so he can take his turn?”

“It wasn’t like that.”

“Wasn’t it? Why not turn me over to those creatures on board as well? Let everyone have a turn at fucking the human.”

“You’re being unreasonable.”

“Am I? Pretending to be your whore was supposed to save me from slavery, but when we get to your world I’m going to be forced to marry a man I’ve never met. Tell me Xenon, what’s the fucking difference?”

Between Heaven & Hell

Just a quick note before I have to fly out to work - first day back after a Bank Holiday weekend *groans* - to say that finally I have some good news.

Between Heaven & Hell has been accepted by Silver Publishing for publication in 2012!

Yay!  Squee!  And all that.

This one is a few firsts for me...

My first published full length novel.
My first m/m/m romance.
My first book with an intended sequel.
And - and this is probably exciting me more than anything else - this will be my first time having an exclusive cover all of my very own!

I can hardly wait.

I don't have any official blurb or extracts yet but here is a teeny tiny teaser blurb.

What happens when an angel and a demon fall for the same mortal man?
Tristan is about to find out and it will change his life forever.

Guest Blogger - Amylea Lyn

Hello everyone!

A special “thank you” to L.M. Brown for letting me steal her blog for the day!

Today I think I will tell you a little about my latest release, Nature of the Beast; Book 1 of my Outside the City Series. I’ll be sharing a little bit about the book, a bit about what inspired me to write Ash and Raine’s story, and of course, what is soon to come…

Raine came to me late one night, as I was lying in bed trying to relax my mind after a busy day. The idea for his story slammed into my subconscious, lurking there for hours until I just couldn’t take it anymore, and I quickly pulled out my cell phone to typed a quick note to myself. Then I left the story idea alone for about a week. I was busy working on another project, and didn’t think I had tome to start anything new. All too soon however, about a week later, Raine was back and I found myself writing the outline for his story, and then writing the first chapter of the book.

That was the beginning of the adventure that is my first published series. Raine and Ash commandeered my mind for months, driving me crazy with their demands. And of course, as I got working on their stories, I started getting ideas for the next few books in the series. What originally started out as a trilogy has now become at least five books; with book number 2 just over half way finished.

There are many other projects in the works, and many ideas waiting for their turn to take over my mind for a while. I’ll get to them eventually… as long as Raine, Ash and all of their friends agree to give me a break for a little while. I’m pretty sure my super soldiers from my “Hitmen” series are going to demand their turn soon enough, so the Outside the City boys better enjoy the attention while it lasts. LOL.

Excerpt:

Preface

The others were near. He could smell them, mortal men, hunting him. The stench of their hunger clung to their skins. At one time, he would have called them friend, perhaps even lover, but now they were the enemy, chasing him through the trees, waiting for the perfect opportunity to pounce.

How had his life come to this? A leader among his people, a prophet, guardian and protector; how had he become the prey? He couldn't remember anymore. He knew only fire and pain, the Betrayer's scent clinging to the inside of his nostrils, burning into his soul so he would never forget.

Never ever forget his life was over, thanks to one traitor; someone who he never expected to betray him.

One of his own.

The humans gained ground, and he began to tire. He could practically feel the heat of their torches against his back. The scent of their sweat, stale and bitter, overlapping the once joyous and soothing aroma of the lush forest around them. Gleeful shouts echoed in the wood and all others dwellers were silent; each small animal hiding deep in their burrows, laying silent witness to his last desperate flight.

He knew the woods, deep in his soul he recognized his little earth sister, but his mind went blank. Everything he rushed past, each tree and shrub, every flora and fauna, had at one time been familiar to him. Now everything he saw swirled together in a mash of greens and browns, nothing distinct or unique. He didn't even know his name anymore, only the fact he had once been a man of great importance, and that he had been betrayed by someone he should have been able to trust.

Everything else had vanished.

He'd woken in an unknown clearing, his mind a daze as pain and confusion racked his body. How had he gotten to the middle of the forest? What had happened?

He lifted a hand to his aching head, only to find his hair matted with blood; little drops dripping down the back of his neck. His tongue felt thick and uncoordinated in his mouth, making swallowing seem impossible. The cool night air drifted across his naked skin, leaving him shivering without his clothes and boots. A scent covered him, one he instinctively knew belonged to the person responsible for his unfortunate circumstances, and he growled in fear and anger.

Shouts suddenly filled the air and a half-dozen men raced into the clearing, torches lighting the glade and glinting off dangerous weapons. He could smell the aggression, hate, and fear clinging to their unwashed bodies, and shuddered visibly at the sight of the vermin wriggling in their ratted and matted beards.

He didn't stick around to find out why they were after him. Instead, he ran.

Over rocks and roots. Through bushes and over small streams. A desperate flight to a safer place, one just out of reach of his conscious mind. If he could get a little further, evade his hunters a bit longer, he would be free.

It wasn't meant to be.

He tripped over an unseen root, landing with a pained grunt on the forest floor, leaves and twigs poking the sensitive skin along his front. He tried to get up, to run again, but something large and heavy landed on his back. The stench of his pursuers overwhelmed him; he couldn't get up, trapped and caught.

But he wouldn't go without a fight.

He bucked up, managing to unsettle the man on his back, and then turned over to slash at him with his claws. Fear and desperation fueled him and he racked across the man's face, something primal and angry rejoicing in the bleeding man's screams. He stood, slashing at another, then another, growling and snarling at them, jerking back from the torches thrust in his direction.

Kill, kill, kill. His mind became a haze of aggression, an inner animal bursting forth. Kill, kill, kill!

"He's shifting!" A flurry of movement followed the hollered warning.

Something thick and wooden slammed into his back, possibly a tree branch, stunning him for a moment, only for a short while but enough for the others to act. Something cracked, sudden and loud, leaving a burning trail of fire blossoming on his side. Another loud sound split the air, this one right on center, causing him to double over with a howl as fire seemed to bloom and spread from his midsection upward to his chest and down toward his feet, leaving him numb.

He fell, body twitching, as another object slammed into him, pain blossoming in his shoulder. His body felt heavy, the world becoming disorientated and blurry around him. He fell like a tree to the forest floor, not even able to cry out in agony as the numbness robbed him of speech.

Dark shapes moving around him, circling like a pack of wolves. He tried to get up and defend himself, but his strength continued to wane and he couldn't raise his head off the ground, let alone fight off his attackers. As his world started to go dark, he heard one of the hunters speak, and sent a silent prayer to whatever unknown god may be listening.

"The boss wants him gone. Let's get him tied up and back to the city…"
